Music Training Creates Talent

Categories: Quote
Issue(s) Addressed: Supporting the school environment for learning
Developing the "whole child"

Attribution

Joanne Haroutounian, Kindling the Spark: Recognizing and Developing Musical Talent, 2002

Item Text

“The idea of musical giftedness gives a misleading picture of what talent development is all about. The term carries the unrealistic view of musical talent simply arriving at birth. Environmental exposure, parental support, and the proper musical training create musical talent.”
