March Forth: An Opportunity for Music Education Advocacy in March

On Tuesday, March 4, 2008, MENC urged members to create events that showcase marching band programs. As with MENC’s National Anthem Day, celebrated on September 14 (the anniversary of “The Star-Spangled Banner”), the emphasis of March Forth is on celebrations at the local level.

In the future, MENC plans to make "March Forth" an annual event and work to secure Congressional support for the program.
